CEO and Co-founder

David Roura Padrosa, PhD

Passionate for green chemistry and the role of enzymes in the future.

He graduated with honors from the University of Girona and then moved to the UK to do his PhD in chemical biology.

Enzyme immobilization has been a core discipline in his research and he soon realized that, combined with focused bioinformatic tools, this technique could change industrial biocatalysis.

COO and Co-founder

Gordon Honeyman, PhD

Chemist by training and gained his PhD in Polymer/Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Since 2005, he has worked in the chemical and medical device industries in the UK. From large multinationals to medium sized companies. After moving to Switzerland in 2019, he joined the Paradisi group as the lab manager and worked in the immobilization of enzymes.

Dr. Cristina Lía Fernández Regueiro

Lia is fascinated by enzymes and holds that learning from nature is key to groundbreaking innovation.

She is a passionate chemist, with experience in materials, chemical information processing and biosensing.

After completing the PhD in the Huck group, she was a key part in Indicate Biotech, a startup revolutionizing virus detection technologies.

Prof. Francesca Paradisi

Prof. Paradisi is a pioneer in the field of applied biocatalysis. By combining her chemistry background and the potential of biocatalysis and continuous flow, her lab has produced several examples of the application of flow-biocatalysis for the production of valuable chemicals. Enzyme immobilization is a core part of her research.

Dr. Theresa Visarius

Visionary and entrepreneur.

After pursuing an academic career at the University of Bern, she moved to be an entrepreneur.

She is the vice president of Business Development at Immunophotonics and acts as a coach for promising Swiss start-ups, bringing her expertise and experience to the team.

Prof. Walter Cabri

With more than 25 years of experience in the chemical industry, Prof. Cabri has been a pioneer in the application of enzymes for the production of chemical compounds. With more than 100 patents and pioneering work in the industrial application of enzymes, he proved the potential that catalysis have towards a more sustainable and efficient chemical synthesis.

Prof. Fernando Lopez Gallego

Dr. Fernando López-Gallego leads the group of heterogeneous biocatalysis at CICbiomaGUNE (San Sebastián, Spain) where is IKERBASQUE research professor. Dr. López-Gallego has a consolidate expertise applying multienzyme systems to biotechnological processes by harnessing the exquisite selectivity of enzymes (biological catalysts).

Dr. Marc Garcia Borràs

Dr. Garcia-Borràs leads a group at the IQCC (Institut de Química Computacional i Catàlisi) at the University of Girona. Dr. Garcia-Borràs is an expert in the application of advanced bioinformatic tools to model the reactivity of enzymes, taking further our understanding of their catalytic properties and guiding forces.

Dr. Fabrice Gallou

Dr. Gallou is a Distinguished Scientist at Novartis Pharma. He has a broad functional expertise in process research and development and has an exceptional record of bringing strategic vision, driving change and continuous improvement to each role he has occupied. His current role is focused in ensuring efficient and sustainable syntheses and processes for all APIs.
