  • What is offered in each of the service stages?
The deliverables are clear and defined together with the customer before the start of the service. As a guideline we provide the following information after each work package: 1) In silico and focused screening: - Samples of up to 100 mg for the best 3-5 candidates. - General immobilization characteristics (material and chemistry). The full details of the immobilization are not shared until WP2. - Report with details on the bioinformatic and screening results. 2) Optimization: - Samples of up to 5g for the best 1-3 samples. - Immobilization protocol. - Report with full characterization of the preparations in terms of activity, stability and reusability. 3) Scale up: - Samples of up to 250 g of the best preparation. - SOP and scalability metrics. - Final report.
  • Can I request a feasibility test before full-scale immobilization?
Yes, that's exactly what the first work package of our service is about - ensuring we have significant hits before committing to a longer project. In the first stage, in only 4 weeks, the bioinformatics and focused screening allow us to find significant hits in terms of activity, stability and reusability.
  • Do you offer the bioinformatic analysis only?
Yes, we can perform the bioinformatics only and give you recommendations on the immobilization techniques that best suit your protein. Our database is propietary, and therefore cannot be shared. Keep in mind though, that even in our own development, we take advice from the model but lab validation is always the best way to go!
  • How long does it take for a full service?
We strive to be as fast as possible - and that is why the first part of the service, the focused screening is done in only 4 weeks. A full service, where we optimize the immobilization protocol to your reaction or protein of interest, typically takes from 14 weeks.
  • How do you manage IP?
We are very clear from the beginning. All background IP belongs and remains with the client and the created immobilization technology can be in-licensed after completion of the service, or we can produce the immobilized enzyme for you. Whatever works best for you, we will adapt. And of course, before starting any project together, we sign an NDA!
  • Do you work with crude lysate or only purified enzymes?
We work with what you have. We have experience with lysates, semi-purified enzymes and purified enzymes.
  • What supports or chemistries do you use for immobilization?
We have a broad range of supports. Different materials with different physicochemical properties and sizes. All to ensure the maximum flexibility and to make sure we can tailor each immobilization to your desired enzyme.
  • How quickly can I receive the enzymes after ordering?
After confirming the order, and depending on availability it can take up to 2 weeks for us to ship the product.
  • I cannot find the enzyme I need. Can I request a custom enzyme immobilization?
Sure! That's our expertise and our offering as a service. Contact us and we will do our best to come up with a preparation that suits your needs.
  • What’s included in the enzyme screening kits?
Depending on the enzymatic type, the kits have from 3 to 5 enzymes. The kits can be of up to 10 g of each enzyme. If you need bigger samples, get in touch and we'll make it happen!
  • Do you provide documentation or certificates (e.g. activity data)?
Yes! All our products come with data on the activity, storage and stability of the samples. In most cases, we also provide the standard activity test to ensure that the results can be replicated in house. If there is any other parameter that you are interested in (i.e. temperature stability, pH stability or solvent stability) let us know!
  • Is tech support available during experiments?
Of course! We are here not only to provide immobilized enzymes but to ensure their incorporation. If you have any question during the process, do reach out to us and we'll answer your questions as best as we can.
  • Can I reuse the enzymes after a reaction? How many times?
Yes, immobilized enzymes are designed to be reused. All our products can be reused for at least 5 times with minimal loss of activity. Some of them even for more than 10 consecutive cycles!
  • How should I store the immobilized enzymes?
Depending on the preparation you ordered. Most of them can be stored for up to 2 weeks at room temperature, but we recommend storing them at 4°C to ensure they last as long as possible!
